Seed Funding Workshop

Navigating SBIR & STTR Grants

StartUpNV is holding a two-day virtual & in-person hybrid training event on October 12th and 13th. The in-person portion of the event will be held at Las Vegas City Hall, 495 S Main Street, Las Vegas NV 89101.

The first day of the event will consist of SBIR 101 sessions and a Train the Trainer workshop that walks ESOs through the application process. For the second day, the audience will hear from the agencies themselves in an online webinar format, where you will learn about their specific process, related programs, and other key information.

What is an SBIR / STTR Grant?
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are federal initiatives in the United States that provide funding opportunities to small businesses and research institutions.

SBIR grants are aimed at supporting small businesses in developing innovative technologies or products with commercial potential. STTR grants, on the other hand, promote partnerships between small businesses and nonprofit research institutions, such as universities.

Who the program is for:

This event is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, and small business owners looking to harness the power of SBIR grants to fuel their startup growth. Whether you’re just starting your entrepreneurial journey or are already established and seeking government funding opportunities, this event offers valuable insights and practical knowledge. It’s ideal for those interested in both virtual and in-person networking opportunities, making it accessible to individuals from various locations.

Additionally, if you’re an Economic Support Organization (ESO) seeking to guide entrepreneurs through the SBIR application process, our Train the Trainer workshop on the first day is tailored just for you. Lastly, anyone eager to engage directly with government agencies and gain in-depth understanding of SBIR processes should not miss the second-day online webinar session featuring key agency representatives.

What you will learn:

This two-day event will include a comprehensive overview of how to secure non-dilutive SBIR & STTR funding. This includes a step-by-step walkthrough of the application process, how to select the right agency, and insights for success!

Join us on October 12th and 13th!
