Based on 20 + years of experience working with organizations from startups to some of the world’s largest technology brands\, Bill will talk about why he thinks there is an incredible opportunity post-pandemic to develop community ecosystems\, provide examples of how community programs have provided value to the companies that host them\, and get down into the details of what the heck a “community” actually is. \nParticipants will: \n\nLearn about the history of online communities;\nLearn why the triple forces of near-ubiquitous Internet access\, the pandemic\, and the decline of mass social media are creating a unique community opportunity;\nReview examples from both startups and large organizations that are leveraging community-building techniques to innovate and grow;\nBegin crafting their own strategy framework from an exclusive set of templates they will receive as part of the session.\n\nAbout Bill \nBill Johnston is a pioneering online community-builder\, strategist\, and designer. His passion is designing online community ecosystems for purpose-driven organizations. Bill founded Structure3C to help organizations create community experiences that power customer engagement and unlock new market opportunities\, working with industry-leading firms like IBM\, Salesforce\, Intuit\, and Siemens. Prior to founding Structure3C\, Bill held Global Director positions at Autodesk and Dell\, where he was responsible for online community and social media globally. Bill is active in the local Reno startup ecosystem as an advisor and investor.
